A hike in the region Midi-Pyrénées

The route "Sentier de la Feuille Dorée" (Golden Leaf Path) presents many vegetal species, so that it would be possible to achieve a herbarium. The hike starts and ends in Auvillar, a very beautiful village, classified as one of the Most beautiful Villages in France. Indeed, Auvillar presents a rich medieval history, and its nature environment leads to musing on the way, either along the Garonne bank, or in the wood.

1- From the place of the old central market, go in the street Saint-Pierre on one side of the Tourist Office. In front of the church, turn to the right, and just after to the left. Continue straight ahead up to find a track on your left.
2- Take the track which goes towards the Garonne bank. Cross a Roman bridge, and continue up to the road D12.
3- Continue on the road opposite. At the next crossroads, go straight. Walk along the highway, leaving two roads on your left. Turn to the left.
4- This path goes into the forest and crosses the brook. Continue up to reach a road.
5- At the edge of the wood, in a residential area, continue straight ahead on the road which enters into the village. Walk past the street "rue des écoles" (on your right) and go on the street "rue des Bourdettes". At the crossing with the street of Sauvetat, turn to the right. Pass under the clock tower and go back to the place "de la Halle".
