A hike in the region Alsace

The hike proposes an easy path for entertainment, with the meeting of odd wooden imps: the Rogues ("Espiègles" in French, and "Spitzbuewe" in Alsatian). They make the forest more cheerful! Living perched above the ground, you will not see them, though they will have yet spotted you. On the road, you will discover a beautiful panorama over the Alsace plain and the vineyard, and also a charming ruined castled classified Historic Monument. The imps and the route arose from the imagination of Mr Jean Lehner, woodcarver.

1. From the car park, take the vineyard path on your left.
2. The vineyard path ends at the halfway of the section. After a bend to the left, turn to the right to go to the forest.
3. After the water tower situated on the left, take the footpath in front of you. It leads to the road of "Espiègles". Walk through pine forest up to Crax Pass.
4. Once at the pass, on the forest road, take the left path towards Sainte-Richarde's rock (panorama).
5. Continue towards Haut-Andlau Castle. The forest road leads to it.
6. Leave the ruins. At the next crossing, turn to the right towards the crossroads "Carrefour des Trois Chênes".
7. At the crossroads, take the path towards Mittelbergheim.
8. You are coming back to the begining of the road of Espiègles. Turn to the left to get back to the vineyard path (2nd section, the other way around).
9. Go straight ahead to take the path of "Rippelholz" and to go back to the car park of Zotzenberg.
