A hike in the region Midi-Pyrénées

A superb stroll on right bank of Lot, upstream of Entraygues, offering splendid panoramas on Lot gorges and the neighbouring plateaus. A stroll between the valleys of Lot and Truyère.


1- Take the road at the left of the chapel, follow the direction of the Limousines. At the first crossing road continue on the left road.
2- Arrived at the Limousines, take the way on your right-hand side, At the crossing go on to the way of right-hand side. Arrived halfway the vines, continue to the hamlet of Mejanasserre.
3- Take the road on your right, at the cross take the way which goes down between the houses. Continue the descent, cross a small brook. Go up to the road of Prévinquières.
4- Take the road on the left, go up it to the first crossing.
5- Take the way on your right up to the house. Take the left way which passes above the house, continue through wood,
cross the brook "des tours". Go up in holly wood.
6- Take the road on your right towards the hamlet of Montcausson, cross the hamlet. 7- Take the way on your right, lower at the junction of two ways, take on the right. Cross the brook "des tours", go up on the way bordered of boxwood.
8- Take the road which goes down opposite you up to the crossing with D920.
9- Take on the right of D920 to the Pontet chapel .

Noteworthy places

Mejanasserre. Hamlet on the slopes of Lot, showing Gallo-Roman vestiges .
Montcausson. Ancient county town of a XIII-XIV century chatellery. Donjon from this time. At the top of the door, a shell frames a bust of woman going back to 1593.
Prévinquières. Vestiges of a chapel: two windows in the farmyard. Downwards, ruins of a square tower.
Chapelle du Pontet. This chapel was built for taking the bridge in under the divine protection.
