A hike in the region Midi-Pyrénées

A discovery of the pitoresque village of Lassouts, a panorama of the valley of the Lot river as far as Aubrac, a stroll between mounts and valleys.

1- Above the church, take the road on your left, pass in front of the town hall. Take the road on the right that leads you to Coupiac. After have passed Coupiac, take the direction of Sarreméjane.
2- At the entry of Sarreméjane, take the way downwards on your right. At the first junction, take the way of your right-hand side, you will see lower the brook on your left-and side, go along it until its crossing with a small bridge.
3- Take the road on your right to the crossing with the D6 road and then cross the bridge. Rise up to the vine located in along turn on your right.
4- Take the way on your right, after the vine. Continue the rise to the small road.
5- Take on your left, pass above Planquette.
6- At the roadsign to yield the passage to 100 m, take the way on your right-hand side which goes up.
7- At the crossing of the cemetery take again the road on your left to join Lassouts.

Noteworthy places

Village de Lassouts. Located on a peak dominating the valley of the Lot, Lassouts is a picturesque village with its red stone-built houses. In the past strengthened, the ancient part preserves some medieval vestiges of the XV and XVI centuries.

Eglise Saint-Jacques. Building of Romanesque origin, replaced by a church of Gothic type. It was built by builders superintendents who erected the cathedral of Rodez. The Romanesque gate of the church, represents Christ in majesty surrounded of six apostles. It shows two bronze bells going back to 1731 and 1738, a credence with stone triple niche of the Romanesque epoch and a stone baptistry with a lobed tank.
