Noteworthy places

Village de Mellé. The previous history of the village would go back up to the Gallic time: the etymology of the name, "Mell", means mound in Celtic. It has also been acknowledged the presence of a Roman way that it was deemed to have been overlapped by the road D108. The existence of the parish of Mellé in the XIIIth century is testified by a manuscript in the abbey of Savigny.
Eglise Saint-Martin de Mellé. Church from the XVth-XVIth centuries, enlarged in the XVIIIth by the addition of two chapels, a sacristy, and the tower of the bell tower.
Manoir des Bas Domaines. Family mansion with a pond.
Manoir de la Haute Vairie. Manor house dating from the XVth-XVIth centuries with a XVIIth century chapel.
Granite. The granite that one can observe in this hike belongs to the massif of Fougères-Louvigné-du-Désert, one of the numerous granitic massifs between Brittany and Normandy. The formation of this massif is very old since it goes back to the final precambrian (600 million years), at the time of the Cadomian orogeny.
